I have developed a solid understanding of young people and how to effectively engage with them in a way which is relaxed and even sometimes fun.
If you are seeking counselling for your child, you can be assured I will approach sessions with the aim of supporting your child/teen to feel comfortable. Through my carer I have developed a solid understanding of children and young people and how to effectively engage with children and young people in a way which is relaxed and even sometimes fun. I like to use creative methods to support children/young people in exploring their feelings and experiences.
It might be your teenager is struggling with anxiety, overthinking, low confidence, feeling isolated, panic, low mood, or feeling “not good enough.” These feelings can affect sleep, motivation, friendships, eating habits, school attendance, or enjoyment in everyday life. For some young people, difficulties may also include OCD, eating difficulties, masking, burnout, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed
I offer a safe, supportive, and confidential space where young people can talk openly without fear of judgement. Sessions are a chance to explore thoughts and feelings, make sense of experiences, and learn healthier ways to cope with challenges.
Sometimes it can feel hard to switch off from worries or know who to talk to, having
someone to talk to other than a parent or family member can be helpful.
I aim to help young people:
Feel listened to and understood
Build confidence and self-worth
Manage anxiety, stress, and overwhelming emotions
Develop healthier coping strategies
Understand themselves and their needs better
Improve relationships and communication
Feel more able to cope with life’s pressures
Building trust is an important part of the counselling process, and I
provide a calm, safe, and supportive environment where young people can feel comfortable being themselves.
Every young person is different, so sessions are tailored to suit their individual personality, interests, needs, and stage of development. If talking feel too much, I can use a range of creative and flexible approaches to help young people feel more relaxed and able to express themselves in ways that feel natural to them.
I understand that asking for support can feel daunting, both for young people and for
parents or carers.
